Jyoti Shamnani, a highly respected and award-winning Realtor is a first-generation immigrant, who understands the challenges of finding a home in a new country and has been helping new immigrants in their real estate journey for years.

Canada is the 6th country Jyoti has had the pleasure to call home and her desire to help new immigrants and first-time home buyers comes naturally as she understands what challenges they face. Jyoti knows firsthand how confusing it can be when you're new in a country and she makes her client's worries melt away as soon as they meet her as she makes them feel at ease right away.

Jyoti has mentored many families who are new to Canada. “It gives me pleasure to help families who are seeking guidance whether it’s the whereabouts, know-hows, motivation, moral support, job hunting, or resume building,” explains Jyoti. “I am an immigrant myself and was in their position ten years ago.”

Now, let's dive into the amazing session between Jyoti Shamnani & Techrangle Director, Riju Vashisht. 😊

Riju: "Hi Jyoti, welcome to our Exclusive interview session for successful realtors? How are you?
Jyoti: "Hi Riju, I'm doing well. Thank you for this opportunity on this exclusive platform."
Riju: "Could you please tell us that if someone approaches you, how do you help? What are your initial steps?"
Jyoti: "That's a great question - and as our Moto goes - My Approach; As Unique As You, we provide a tailored approach based on the initial intake questions. It is going to be a different approach for a newcomer to Canada than the buyer who is already in Canada, moreover a remote buyer will
have completely different requirements."
Riju: "Do you have any programs or links that you help people with?"
Jyoti: "Absolutely! I am glad you asked. So, we have a multitude of helpful information depending on the requirements of our clientele. Our approach is education based and we pride ourselves on 'Service Above Profits’.
If a family is looking for guidance on their initial days and are not ready to decide a location, we do have videos on our YouTube Channel that talks about Reasons to Love and Live in e.g. Mississauga, Oakville, Milton and more.
We also have presentations that talk about these things in depth, various neighbourhoods in different cities, education system etc. While others who are ready to take decision we guide them with the financials."
Our main focus is to give them the best experience when they land in Canada. There is overwhelming information on the internet these days and therefore, connecting with a person who has been there 10 years ago I feel I understand the journey and this is something close to my heart.
Riju: "Post Pandemic Impact on the real estate industry, what activities do you perform and how the pandemic has changed your daily schedule. How are you working in this unprecedented time?"
Jyoti: "I have been changing cities as my father had transferable job that moved to changing countries as a trailing wife - adaptability has become my second nature. I’ve realized that I have a knack of setting unachievable or high goals for myself and I lose sleep over it until I have achieved them.
I was traveling to Amsterdam and Germany a few days before the world was shut down and I had loads of ideas in my mind that I wanted to use in my business.
One good thing about travelling to different countries is that you pick various attributes and ideas and try to incorporate them in your work and life. In fact, I would say pandemic actually initiated a forced appreciation of technology and work from home trend (the very reason I quit from the corporate world).
I started zoom interviews with women entrepreneurs to see how they were doing and realized we are all sailing in the same boat. I worked on my branding, website, social media presence, ordered safety kits - masks, sanitizers, shoe covers, etc for showings as client’s safety is our priority. Pivoting, adapting to the new norm to be able to service our clients was and is our main focus always."
Riju: "That's phenomenal, Jyoti. What's your take on the after effects of the pandemic on the real estate industry?"
Jyoti: "We as human beings tend to send our experiences in the past pretty quickly. Although the world isn’t going to be the same, we have moved on while the pandemic hasn’t been declared to be over yet.
We all know there will be over 1M immigrants still coming to Canada, we still have housing shortage, China is having its own challenges, we have been affected by Russia/Ukraine war, inflation, interest rate hike and more such social economic factors. Therefore, the real estate industry will have its ups and downs but in opinion it is still a sustainable industry.
As per Malsow's hierarchy, this is a basic necessity of survival. History has evidence of our evolution and we all saw worldwide spike in house prices as people wanted to move out and away from the dense areas, close to nature, and more privacy which resulted in the price hike and demand in the suburban areas. I am eagerly waiting to see the impact on housing once back to work physically will be initiated at a larger scale."
